Restoring Hope. Strengthening the Future.

On August 16, 2024, the village of Thame in Nepal was devastated by a catastrophic glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF). Homes were destroyed. The local school and community clinic were swept away. Families were left without shelter, education, or access to basic healthcare.

What was lost was more than infrastructure—it was stability, safety, and a sense of future.

Khangri Experience Foundation exists to help restore what was taken and to build something stronger in its place.

The Mission

We are committed to rebuilding Thame Village through long-term, sustainable efforts that support education, healthcare, and economic resilience.

Our focus is not only on reconstructing physical spaces, but on protecting the future of the community—especially its children. True recovery means children returning to school, families accessing healthcare, and communities standing stronger against future hardship.

We believe true recovery means ensuring children can learn, families can heal, and communities can thrive—long after the floodwaters recede.

Why Girls’ Education Matters

For many families in remote regions of Nepal, poverty is a daily reality. That hardship becomes devastating when a father is lost in the mountains while trying to provide for his family. In these moments, education often becomes an impossible luxury.

In many communities, boys are prioritized for schooling, while girls are quietly left behind.

Without education, these girls face a future of instability, vulnerability, and increased risk of exploitation and human trafficking. Their lives become defined by circumstances they never chose.

Our Commitment to Girls’ Education

Changing the Story—One Girl at a Time

We are committed to supporting the most vulnerable girls—those who have no access to school and no one else to advocate for them.

Through education support, essential supplies, and long-term mentorship, we offer more than schooling. We offer protection, dignity, and the ability to imagine a different future.

Education gives these girls choices. It gives them safety. It gives them hope.

Your Role

Your support helps rebuild schools and health posts destroyed by the flood while also ensuring children—especially girls—can continue their education despite poverty and loss.

We currently sponsor the full education of three girls throughout their academic journey, and we are committed to expanding this support to many more who have been forced to leave school due to hardship.

Every contribution creates real, lasting change.
